As some of you begin to drive (many of you already have), you are required to pass a test, where you must identify different types of signs. One of the most common signs that everyone can identify is :

STOP!!!!

When you see a stop sign, you know you are supposed to Stop.

You have also been taught that when you are solving inequalities, you are supposed to flip the sign when you are multiplying or dividing by a negative number.

We are going to combine the two ideas above. Your assignment is to create a sign, any kind of sign, that, if anyone were to look at, they would easily know they were supposed to flip the sign when multiplying or dividing by a negative number.

You are being graded on these criteria:

How creative the sign is (up to 2 points)

Is it colored, clean, look nice? If it doesn’t take up the whole paper, has it been cut out? (up to 2 points)

And most IMPORTANT:

If I look at it, do I know to flip the sign when multiplying or dividing by a negative when dealing with inequalities? (Up to 5 points)

Do this on a blank sheet of white paper… if you need ideas for street signs, go here.

I plan on putting the best ones up, so please try your best!
